How do you maintain flexibility & balance for your team?

Maintaining work-life balance is an extremely important principle at Sure! We believe it reduces stress and prevents burnout, so we do our best to promote a culture that fosters this principle. We are remote-first and allow employees to have a flexible schedule. Managers at Sure emphasize that everyone should take breaks, go on vacations (yes, we take unlimited PTO seriously!) and take a sick day if they are not feeling their best.

How do you ensure autonomy and plan for the future?

Here at Sure we are determined to maintain an autonomous environment for our employees. Our communication tactics are established to encourage self direction and reliance while also providing support and guidance from accessible resources and leaders. 

Due to the transparency and day to day presence of our leadership, all Sure employees are encouraged to openly collaborate and give feedback on how we function as a company every step of the way.

How does your company try to hire people from underrepresented groups and improve the diversity of your team?

At Sure, we know creating a diverse and inclusive workplace isn't just good policy, it's good business. That's why we strive not only to accept one another's differences, but to celebrate what makes us unique. Increasing representation at Sure starts with the Talent Team.

Some of the strategies we have implemented include using pronouns, organizations, and universities in our Boolean recruiting searches. We work with our hiring managers on their job descriptions in order to help them avoid company jargon and gender-coded language. In addition, the Talent team provided interview training to spread awareness to everyone at Sure on the different types of unconscious bias and providing resources such as LinkedIn learning for everyone to learn more. This is just the beginning as we strive to be a DEI&B leader within the industry.

How do you support your team to grow and improve?

Professional growth and continuous improvement is constantly made a priority for each employee at Sure! Each employee has a combination of 1:1 meetings with their manager, in addition to weekly team meetings and 30/60/90 day goals from the minute you start at the company. If there is a goal you’d like to achieve, or something you would like to improve on, each employee is encouraged to speak with their manager to set a plan of action towards achieving that goal.

Sure goes above and beyond to put their people first! Everyone is encouraged to use their unlimited PTO (roughly about a full week each quarter) so that burnout is not an issue. We also offer a 401k program, at home office stipends and a free membership to the Calm app to ensure our employees have everything they need to be successful in a remote environment.
