Doist profile
At Doist, our mission is to inspire the workplace of the future by creating simple yet powerful productivity tools that promote a more fulfilling way to work and live.
We're a multidisciplinary, fully remote, team that’s passionate about creating products, like Todoist and Twist, that improve people’s lives. We thrive on innovating new solutions to old productivity challenges and we seek to rethink how productivity tools are made.

How do you maintain flexibility & balance for your team?
We believe that ambition and balance go hand-in-hand. In practice, we have flexible schedules and work asynchronously so that each of our team members is able to create a work schedule that is best suited to them and their other commitments. We also limit work weeks to 40 hours and offer perks and benefits that enable our team members to invest in their health and wellness.
How do you ensure autonomy and plan for the future?
Our team thrives on deep work and asynchronous communication. This is critical as a distributed team because it allows us preserve each team member’s autonomy in their work. Of course, there is also a time and place for more “live” conversations in the form of video conferences or chats. When it comes to planning, our leadership team, in collaboration with our team heads (managers), create the high-level plans for the year. Using this core plan, each team head works with their team members to come up with a plan to execute on team-level tasks, while cross-functional teams are assembled on a monthly basis to execute on cross-functional tasks.
How does your company try to hire people from underrepresented groups and improve the diversity of your team?
There’s nothing here—yet! Our team at Wildbit is working with this company to add a response to this question.Â
How do you support your team to grow and improve?
Being a fully-distributed team, we value independence and mastery so we encourage our team members to seek continuous growth and development. We support this through monthly 1-on-1’s with team heads, the opportunity to propose and execute a month-long personal, work-related project that allows are team members to develop new skills, and we offer a budgets that can be used for learning and conferences.
