Morey Creative Studios profile

Morey Creative Studios is a New York-based HubSpot Partner Agency. We help organizations leverage HubSpot to achieve sustainable growth. With roots in media and journalism dating back to 1987, we have seen our own business undergo massive transformation, and have the skills and experience to help others do the same, no matter where they are today!

How do you maintain flexibility & balance for your team?

The Morey Creative Studios team understands that family, mental health and happiness come first. We encourage our team to take the time they need to do the best work they can do while achieving the balance they need in their lives--including working the hours that suit them best.

Having switched to a remote model during the COVID pandemic, we have learned how to work effectively as a distributed team and will continue to offer employees the option of remote work moving forward. We keep in touch via regular video meetings, as well as Slack, Asana and email, and encourage employees to raise a hand in the event that a situation or client becomes stressful or overwhelming.
Remote Friendly

How do you ensure autonomy and plan for the future?

The team here makes decisions together. We get feedback from everyone when making big decisions and discuss them at our weekly all staff meeting. Team members have autonomy in their day-to-day and are empowered to make decisions about the direction of their accounts.

We use Slack as our primary internal source of communication. However, this is limited to office hours only.
Long-Term Planning Shared Goal Setting

How does your company try to hire people from underrepresented groups and improve the diversity of your team?

Morey Creative Studios has instated a Director of Social Impact to begin our DEI&B journey in earnest. We are dedicated to hiring from diverse or URM candidate pools by using a wider range of job listing sites like POCIT, etc.

To mitigate unconscious bias in the hiring process, the Director of Social Impact removes potentially identifying information from resumes and portfolios before passing to the hiring committee to review.

How do you support your team to grow and improve?

When we onboard new members, we make it clear what their path to growth can be in the company. We also encourage people to forge their own path, by indicating what interests them and how that could benefit the direction of the company. We have quarterly training sessions, and often engage in spirited discussions on industry news and new tips/tricks organically throughout the week.

We improve on a regular basis with weekly one-on-ones, which parlay into overall individual KPIs, goals, etc.
