How do you maintain flexibility & balance for your team?
We approach work scheduling and time off a little differently at Knack. We encourage team members (Knackleheads) to structure their work schedules in whatever ways work best for them - even if that looks different from how others operate. We call this work life optimization. Work life optimization is the ability to autonomously leverage flexible scheduling and open time off to empower personal well-being.
How do you ensure autonomy and plan for the future?
We use daily Slack check-ins, all-hand meetings, and weekly update posts to ensure every Knacklehead is on the same page. We employ Slack to keep work moving, but treat it as an asynchronous tool. We're also big believers of sharing work early and often. The earlier you share project updates, the earlier you're able to elicit useful feedback, make decisions, and realign focus if needed.
How do you support your team to grow and improve?
Knack is a team comprised of hungry minded individuals. We have several channels in Slack dedicated to fostering personal growth and development including a book club and level up channel. We also offer an annual learning credit stipend and have regular one-on-ones to facilitate each and every Knacklehead's continuous pursuit of growth.
